Amway/Quixtar critic Scott Larsen makes a complete fool of himself

Amway/Quixtar critic Scott LarsenUser SP75 in the forums was on the ball and has caught Amway/Quixtar critic Scott Larsen making a complete fool of himself (again).

Here’s what SP75 had to say -

I have recently read a new post by Scott Larsen and I didn’t believe my eyes. He says:

"If you read the page (amvio_uk.html Feb 9, 25), I only stated that DTI had a lot information on Amway. In fact, the word "investigation" was never used on my page."

Hahaha! Let’s look at the page he is referring to – amvio_uk.html – titled………
well, maybe I cannot read…. "UK Amway/Amvio Investigation"?????
WHAT??? I N V E S T I G A T I O N ??? Isn’t this the word which was NEVER used on his page?????

Scott, you are a liar! What else do you expect us to believe?

This will probably disappear into the Larsen dungeon soon, so I’ve grabbed some screenshots. First, here’s where Larsen belittles the folk at Amway claiming they can’t read, and directs us to a web page he wrote where he states the word "investigation" was never used. I’ve added the red underlining. (click the images for full resolution)

Scott Larsen Caught Lying 1

So here’s the page -

Scott Larsen lie 2

Yup, definitely no "Investigation" mentioned there Scott – who’s the one who can’t read exactly Scott? And your own website? In fact, not only is it in the part I underlined, it’s also the actual title of the page.

And let’s not miss the fact this supposed Amway "expert" doesn’t even know the European website for UK was AMIVO not AMVIO.

SP75 has previously highlighted Larsen lying about Crown Direct Jody Victor, lying about Founders Crown Ambassador Dexter Yager income, and lying about a Wall Street Journal article on Japan’s Double Crown Ambassador Kaoru Nakajima. I blogged last year about him lying about what an illegal pyramid is.

Quixtar takes the fight to TEAM – new lawsuit

Over on the Alticor Media blog, in a post titled Why We Fight – Part I, Alticor has announced a new lawsuit against SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT TEAM, LLC d/b/a TEAM.

The lawsuit is available here and is an interesting read. Primarily they are pursuing the fact that TEAM has taken "propriety information" of Quixtar, namely the IBO names and structure downline. Furthermore -

38. On information and belief, TEAM started planning to launch a new competing multi-level marketing company at least as early as the first half of 27, and, at the same time, to stop promoting and supporting the Quixtar business.

TEAM IBOs have of course denied this allegation, though I’d note there was a comment on this sites forums more than 3 months ago from an IBO stating they’d been told* -

In the leadership training after, this gentleman said that if "THE TEAM" has any more challenges with their "servicing corp" they were going to find a new one!

So it had quite obviously been discussed. Interestingly, on the day Woodward and Brady were terminated I posted about it, without naming names and asked if anyone could guess who was involved. The same poster as above immediately named Orrin Woodward. I asked why and he replied -

Himself and another Diamond have flat-out said to their leadership team that they would leave if Amway replaces Q*. My 2 ears heard from one of them personally.

So you can clearly take TEAM’s denials with a very large grain of salt.

Interestingly, in the lawsuit Quixtar states -

"4. TEAM required its customers to use their unique Quixtar IBO registration number as a password for entering TEAM controlled web sites and meetings, or as a prerequisite for obtaining a TEAM number for access to those websites and meetings. Recently, TEAM assigned new TEAM numbers to all TEAM-affiliated Quixtar IBOs in anticipation of a mass exodus from Quixtar, solicited and orchestrated by TEAM.

and, quite damningly -

42. On information and belief, TEAM has negotiated with at least one new supplier as a source of products for TEAM’s new multi-level marketing company.

Of course, whether this happened before or after the termination is rather important, and not mentioned. The suit goes on to mention something I hadn’t considered -

53. For example, TEAM and its agents continue to hold TEAM meetings around the country on Tuesday and Saturday nights. TEAM publicizes and generates attendance at these meetings through the use of Quixtar’s LOS information.

and

54. TEAM used Quixtar LOS information to heavily promote a “major function” in Louisville, Kentucky scheduled for the weekend of October 19, 27.

On the face of it, this is entirely correct. How the LOS information is regarded by a judge will be quite interesting to see. The suit continues with numerous instances where TEAM is using LOS information to compete or disparage Quixtar, including voicemails and emails.

The gloves are truly off in this case though – Quixtar is asking for damages.

Amway UK & Ireland – IBS: The other side of the story

As reported on this site several weeks ago, UK & ROI Amway Diamonds affiliated with IBS, Jerry & Mandy Scriven, Pat & Greta Gregory, and Dave Butler had not been offered renewed contracts with the "new" Amway. Amway itself confirmed this with a posting on the Amway media blog entitled IBS Unplugged.

Jerry and Mandy Scriven have now responded with a well written and well supported letter on their website – www.jerryandmandy.co.uk. As it is, the letter and the supporting evidence, including letters and emails from Amway, is quite damning of the management of Amway UK & ROI. I recommend you read them.

Without hearing more of the Amway side of this story (and there’s always at least two sides to every story, and they’re often all true! From the teller’s perspective ….) then these Diamonds have been treated extremely badly. It appears to be another example of the corporation acting with little consideration or respect when there are legal issues involved – act first, ask questions later, who cares who is hurt along the way.

I call on Amway UK & ROI to provide further explanation of their reasons behind these terminations.

Network 21 – Best Practices #3: Professional Development Materials

This is the third letter from Founders Crown Ambassador Jim Dornan outlining "Best Practices" to Network TwentyOne IBOs in the United States as that organization undergoes the process of obtaining Quixtar Accreditation. One thing to keep in mind when reading these letters is that they are not something that should be considered specific to Network 21. While, in my experience, N21 has always encouraged these "Best Practices", these letters also outline how Amway and Quixtar believe the business should be run. So if you, or someone you encounter, are operating their Amway and Quixtar businesses in a manner inconsistent with these "Best Practices", then you can be assured you are doing so without the blessing of the corporation! The long-term success of the Amway/Quixtar business is founded upon reputation, and that reputation relies on IBOs doing the right thing.

Previous posts in this series -

Jim DornanHi Everyone,

This is Jim Dornan with a message about professional development resources – the books, tapes, CDs, DVDs, websites, and functions that many of you use to help build your businesses.

There’s no doubt that these resources have an important role to play in our business. After all, a Quixtar-powered business is available to anybody, and there are many IBOs whose background is not business-oriented. So, professional development resources, along with the mentoring and personal involvement you provide as leaders, are invaluable to the growth and success of Independent Business Owners.

When it comes to professional development resources, though, it’s important to remember the rules. Purchasing these materials or function tickets is absolutely optional and must be positioned as such. No one can be required to buy books or tapes or to attend functions as a condition of being an IBO. This is made clear to every person who registers as an IBO, and Quixtar advises IBOs of the importance of watching their expenses on such resources in relation to the rest of their business activities.

In fact, there are a number of consumer protections concerning professional development resources:

1. All materials shown to prospects must be content-authorized by the Corporation.
2. Buyers of professional development materials are entitled to a 18-day buy-back if not satisfied.
3. Buyers of tickets to functions and meetings have a 3-day satisfaction guarantee on the meeting-ticket purchase price.

It also must be made perfectly clear that these resources certainly do not guarantee success. What worked for one person may or may not work for someone else. And no matter how much someone reads and studies, they’ll never build a successful business if they don’t put in the effort and the hours.

Thank you for the effort and the time that you put into building your business and in building it the right way. And thanks for listening.

Jim Dornan
