I have to be honest, Chuck, and not water-down my message. Just like you wouldn't watered-it-down when you were on-stage at the seminars/big functions.
It's very good for you reputation to say you wanted things to change for a long time. But knowing many people make more money from BSMs, I also would like to see you admit it as a fraud you didn't know at the time it was so, so bad. That you were cought "between a rock and a hard place."
But instead you give the explanation of the "car business".
It's irrelevant. It doesn't apply!!!
I'd love for you to offer an apology for being part of a "brain-washing" system that not only 1) keep us in with the hope that indeed "Amway was the 'best' biz to be in," and 2) drain our pockets, as we paid a dollar for stuff that Dex paid less than ten cents. That is FRAUD, Chuck.
And your explanation of the car business doesn't do justice.
Let me explain how I see it.
Let's say you sponsored me into a business, any business. If you want me to grow as a person because that will mean growth of your biz, then you provide me with all the necessary tools. My biz is your biz!!! Wasn't that what we used to hear, "your upline has your best interest at heart, by hurting you they hurt themselves"?
You want the best for me. Because, if you'll make a 5% or 10% cut of my total volume you want me to create a 100-million -dollar-a-year volume ASAP, don't you?.
Now let's say I'd do it in five years, and now I have an organization of 100,000 people. Under Orrin's excuse, there could be many people making several "streams of income" from the tools and if you'd also were to get a 5% cut from it you could make another 3-to-5 million per year.
Now these three million wouldn't make any---I mean ANY- difference to you, but the $100.00 a month make a huge difference to the newly sponsored rep. Wouldn't it?
Your explanation of why you quit Amway is very encouraging. It shows you have a very solid "backbone."
Please don't just stop this far. The sale of tools for profit is not only immoral, but also very, very short-sighted.
You're taking from the "poor to give to the rich," while telling the poor you want them to succeed.
How is that ethical?
I quit in 2003. I started understand the tool fraud in 2005. Then in 08' I learned you were not in Amway anymore. I had lost a lot of respect for you until reading this letter.
I'm sure there are many people who feel the same way because they don't know what went on before you left.
My respect for you has gone up again.
Please consider ending the tools profits----wherever you go.
I hope to meet you again sometime sooner than later.

Francisco Navarro.
Amway quitter and proud of it.

What an awesome letter! Thank you so much for your courage and integrity!

I believe one of the major functions of government, and, may I add, one of the only one they have with regard to economics, is to break up monopolies. As I was reading the terms and conditions to start a new MLM, I stopped in my tracks. Again, I saw the rule that states I cannot pursue another MLM simultaneously. I believe there ought to be a law against such laws!! It's like saying that you can only shop at Walmart, never your local grocery store!

I was surprised and encouraged, as I read the rest of this letter, to see that you are already trying to do this! Please let me know if there is anything an average citizen can do do help. I believe that this is something to take higher up the "food chain!"

Sincerely,
Linda Fahey
