Cody Lieberman’s Mobile Brand Experience Blog

Cody, who I gather is the son of Amway Global CEO, Steve Lieberman, is apparently one of the support staff for the Artistry and Nutrilite Mobile Brand Experience buses that are currently criss-crossing North America in support of the Amway Global Tina Turner Live concert series.

As well as daily posts (we’re up to Day 24!), Cody has also been posting heaps of photos on Photobucket.

Definitely worth checking out!

Bo Short, Ty Tribble jump companies again

Former Quixtar Diamond Bo Short and well known MLM blogger and former Amway/Quixtar IBO Ty Tribble have apparently changed MLM companies again. In a posting on his website, Ty has published a letter sent to his “team”. Some quotes –

We have received numerous inquiries asking us for feedback about our status at Max. As some of you know we have resigned our positions on the Advisory Council and decided to go in a different direction. The decision to do so was not entered into lightly but was ours alone and followed a great deal of discussion with all levels of Max corporate leadership and ownership addressing various issues.

During this process we were approached and asked if we were open to discussing an opportunity to serve as Founding Partners for a new company and build the team of field Associates.

After leaving Quixtar in 2001, Bo Short, Ty Tribble and others started a new MLM company, Passport. That company apparently didn’t do so well and the Passport folk merged into Oasis LifeSciences, which then became Univera LifeSciences. Earlier this year, Bo and Ty started promoting what they said would be “the fastest growing company in network marketing”Max International.

Now they’ve jumped again, to what is not yet clear, but frankly I wouldn’t have been completely surprised if it was MonaVie, who rumour has it has “bought” quite a few “leaders” into their fold – a much easier way to get great growth than actually build a network from scratch! Still, they claim that they’re “founding partners” in something new – again.

In my opinion this kind of company-hopping is damaging for the reputation of the network marketing industry. While these guys may have the best of intentions, and are moving for what are honourable or even sensible reasons, it’s something that may be beneficial for leaders but detrimental for the most important folk – the new people entering a network.

What does it do for your belief and your credibility if your promoting a different product and different business opportunity if every few months or years?

This is one reason why I’m glad to be with Amway. While we all have our gripes with the way they do things sometimes, and we’d all like them to respond faster to changes in the marketplace – they’re still going strong after 50 years!

ABOs – Please stop selling Amway as a way to save money

Tuesday night I was at an Open Plan, the presenter did a great job, but he did one thing that irritates the heck out of me and in my opinion is problematic and potentially dishonest. What did he do? Well, as is unfortunately not uncommon, when explaining the various benefits of becoming an Amway Business Owner (ABO), one he promoted was the idea that “you’ll save 30% on stuff you’re already buying”. Leaving aside the issue of whether saving money is a sensible way to promote starting a business or not, this is a problem, because for many people sitting in the audience it is at best misleading, and indeed usually completely false. How to improve Amway & Quixtar – Part I

This was originally posted back on August 9, 2007, however it got buried in events later that day and Part II was never written. A few folk have suggested the topic is worth revisiting, so here it is! Some changes, such as shipping cost changes in the US and the whole new setup in the UK mean not everything is as relevant to all markets and applicable as when originally written, but most still is.

I’ve been pondering for some time what kind of changes could be made to the Amway and Quixtar business opportunities to make them better. Amway and Quixtar have been pondering the same thing, and on the Opportunity Zone blogs have been asking IBOs for their input.

I believe that “improvement” needs to be addressed in three different arenas –

  1. improvements that can be made related to consumers (of which IBOs are a part) such as addressing product pricing and shipping costs.
  2. improvements that can be made related to training, and part of that is to do with BSM and BSM suppliers
  3. improvements that can be made related to reputation

Obviously these areas overlap somewhat and in this post I’m going to talk about a simple change that could dramatically improve reputation, yet change very little at all. What’s the change?

Folk on Amway Talk and in the comments on this site have wondered what benefits the recently announced Nutrilite partnership with AC Milan might bring to Amway business owners. Well, the video below is highlights of last weekend’s game between AC Milan and Sampdoria. Team Nutrilite member Ronaldinho scored 2 of Milan’s 3 goals.

While the video is not the best quality, you can clearly see Nutrilite signage behind and around the goals. This youtube video clip alone has had over 70,000 views within 2 days of posting. Other similar clips of the game take the viewers to well over 100,000. As Andy Gamm reports in the comments over on the Amway Global Opportunity Zone, the clips have also been played over and over again on news and sports channels throughout Europe – with viewers likely totalling in the millions.

To top it off, Ronaldinho’s two goals means Amway is donating a further $20,000 ($10,000/goal) to the Amway One by One Campaign for children!

What’s Next? AC MILAN!!!!!!

Nutrilite is the newest sponsor of one of the world’s biggest and greatest football clubs – Italy’s AC Milan. Under the agreement Nutrilite becomes the official brand of food supplements for the club and enjoys a mix of promotional and media rights with the team for the next two years.

“This agreement today”, explains Alessandro Saturday, Director General Amway Italy, “will allow Amway to make a concrete contribution to one or more causes for children. For every goal scored by Ronaldinho in our country a figure of 10,000 U.S. dollars is to be paid in to Amway’s One by One campaign for children, to support a project of Foundation Milan dedicated to children in Italy. “

Amway had previously signed a sponsorship agreement with Ronaldinho, appointed Ambassador Global Campaign Amway One by One dedicated to children.
