According to this post on Eric Janssen's (QBlog) QuixtarBlog, Amway/Quixtar critic Scott Larsen emailed him and told him he'd received yet another letter from Alticor lawyers about his website. The problem this time was that he'd posted a link to a news article about Alticor leader's being sued by former Amway shareholders in a dispute over the reprivitisation of Amway Asia-Pacific back in the 9s. Linking to the article is fine, but in typical Larsen fashion, he didn't link to another news article, just 6 days later, about the case getting thrown out. Larsen wants people to read about the case, but he doesn't want people to know that it had no merit! And people still trust this guy? What shocked me even more though was
Janssen's defence of Larsen.
Now, I'm not a lawyer, but I agree with
Janssen that Alticor's legal folk probably had no leg to stand on in
terms of forcing Larsen to link to the later news article, and to his
credit he did add the link, but Janssen goes out of his way to defend
Larsen's right to be biased and mislead people! You get that folks –
the behaviour is unethical and misleading, and Eric Janssen says that kind of thing is fine by him. I'd note Janssen himself also hotlinks to the first news article twice, thus helping contribute to improving it's ranking in search engines, but he doesn't hot link to the article explaing the case was bogus.
Are these guys actually interested in THE TRUTH? Apparently not.
