Last week I posted on the history of Amway and Quixtar, including a great video with some shots from the past. You may recall from the post that Amway originated in 1959 as an outgrowth of the business of two young Nutrilite distributors, Rich De Vos and Jay Van Andel. Nutrilite itself was founded by Dr Carl Rehnborg, but it wasn't until he sold the exclusive distribution rights to Lee Mytinger and William Casselberry that the company really took off. Mytinger and Casselberry developed the marketing method today known as multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing. Browsing the internet archives a while back I found a film produced in 1954 by Mytinger and Casselberry to promote Nutrilite. It's a fascinating look into how Nutrilite, even 52 years ago, is focused on the science and quality of their products. The film is about 2 minutes long, I've split it in to two halves.
