Artistry hits the airwaves

Over on the Artistry focussed All Dolled Up Opportunity Zone Blog, regular blogger Jessica Ellis has handed the reins for the day to Lindsay Martin from Amway Global Media Relations. Lindsay gives a great rundown on one of Amway Globals recent initiatives to increase media and public awareness of the Artistry skin care and cosmetics brand. A few weeks ago they flew a number of “opinion leaders” in the cosmetics and beauty field to Ada, Michigan to check out the science and manufacturing behind Artistry products. One local show, Take 5 from Grand Rapids WZZM Channel 13 has already aired a segment on the tour and posted it online.

The show gives a brief but enlightening insight into what a leader Artistry is in the field of skincare. Chuck Lia on his Speaking of Amway blog has posted the first of his Ten Points That Set Amway Apart series and talks about Amway’s unrivalled history in the direct selling field. I have little doubt that one of his future points will be the amazing R&D team that Amway has backing up the products we IBOs market. It’s an award winning story that the world, and Amway business owners, need to hear. Just recently, Amway’s Artristry Creme LuXury product won an award for packaging design and several of Nutrilite’s scientists won a prestigious international research award. To the best of my knowledge no other direct selling firm even comes close to Amway in Research & Development, and few, if any, health & beauty companies either.

Great MoBE blog

I ran across a great blog a few weeks back that chances are you didn’t know about –

Cody Lieberman’s Mobile Brand Experience Blog

Cody, who I gather is the son of Amway Global CEO, Steve Lieberman, is apparently one of the support staff for the Artistry and Nutrilite Mobile Brand Experience buses that are currently criss-crossing North America in support of the Amway Global Tina Turner Live concert series.

As well as daily posts (we’re up to Day 24!), Cody has also been posting heaps of photos on Photobucket.

Definitely worth checking out!

ABOs – Please stop selling Amway as a way to save money

Tuesday night I was at an Open Plan, the presenter did a great job, but he did one thing that irritates the heck out of me and in my opinion is problematic and potentially dishonest. What did he do? Well, as is unfortunately not uncommon, when explaining the various benefits of becoming an Amway Business Owner (ABO), one he promoted was the idea that “you’ll save 30% on stuff you’re already buying”. Leaving aside the issue of whether saving money is a sensible way to promote starting a business or not, this is a problem, because for many people sitting in the audience it is at best misleading, and indeed usually completely false. Amway Global Mobile Brand Experiences hit the road

Robin Luymes, Manager, PR & Editorial at Amway Global, has posted a great blog about the new Nutrilite and Artistry Mobile Brand Experiences, which are currently touring North America with the Amway Global Tina Turner Live Tour. Robin has included some great photos of the Brand Experience buses, something regular reads of the TTAA sites got a sneak preview of last week, when one of my favourite Amway bloggers, Bridgett, posted some photos taken when she took a trip to Michigan – Amway Partners With Tina Turner: Mobile Marketing Is Simply the Best.

Robin also has an account up on Flickr where he has posted a whole heap more photos – check them out. In a piece of irony highlighted by Robin back in June, Amway’s Opportunity Zone blogs missed out on a Direct Selling Innovations award to another company that was utilising “a brand bus they used to crisscross the nation in support of their representatives”. What’s particulary ironic is that Amway pioneered this “innovation” nearly 50 years ago!

The Real Amway Global Transformation

In his seminal work Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t, Jim Collins reports on some of the research he and his colleagues have done in to what transforms good companies in to great companies. One of the central tenets of the book his the “hedgehog concept”, based upon an ancient Greek parable:

The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.

As he explains on his website, jimcollins.comContinue reading The Real Amway Global Transformation

Announcing Amway Watch

Amway Watch

For a few months now I’ve been working on a new website – Amway Watch. Amway Watch is solely dedicated to reporting news on the Amway business from around the world, using official sources such as newspapers, Amway press releases, court documents and such.

This site, The Truth About Amway, will continue to break news on controversial and other topics that are generally not of interest for most people and not “in the mainstream”. The Blog area will also continue to provide my thoughts and analysis on various topics about the Amway Business. I won’t however be updating the front page on general “news” as much as I might have in the past – the focus for that will be Amway Watch. Continue reading Announcing Amway Watch

Amway Australia fights back against MonaVie

Recently I revealed that I’d heard a number of Amway Australia Diamonds had “jumped ship” to MonaVie. One of those was Alan Decker . After a little bit of googling I found his “linkedin” profile, and it did indeed list him as “Owner at MonaVie International”. Surprisingly enough, within a short time that was removed from the profile! Fortunately google let’s us see when history is changed. Here’s Alan Decker’s linked in profile now and here’s what it looked like when I found it. What’s the significance of the change? Has Decker decided to stick with Amway, or does he no longer want people to know of his MonaVie involvement? I’ve no idea. Only thing it indicates is that Mr Decker or someone he knows must be reading my site! 🙂 Continue reading Amway Australia fights back against MonaVie
